The session, titled “Amplifying the Researcher Voice: Researcher Networks Working Together Effectively to Drive Change,” delved into the collaborative efforts of research staff associations (RSAs) and networks in impacting policy and driving sector-wide transformations. This insightful discussion was organized jointly by Vitae and the UK Research Staff Association (UKRSA).

Dr. Gordon Dalton’s presentation at the conference underscored the significance of collaborative efforts among researcher communities in effecting positive change and progress within the research sphere. His insights served to inspire and guide the future direction of researcher associations and networks, fostering an environment where innovation and growth are paramount.

The discourse drew inspiration from the Vitae Toolkits, which are tailored to aid in the development and sustenance of researcher networks. These toolkits are designed to offer invaluable support by showcasing best practices and recommendations, ultimately contributing to the formation of a comprehensive action plan for UKRSA’s future endeavors.

The Vitae International Researcher Development Conference 2023, which spanned the virtual realm from September 6 to 7, 2023, was a hub for addressing topics central to fostering a robust research culture and advancing professional and career development in the research community.

Additionally, on September 25 and 26, 2023, the conference featured an evening Gala dinner where the prestigious ‘Vitae Impact, Culture, and Engagement (ICE) Awards’ took center stage on Monday, September 25, 2023.
