The Initiative Science Europe has welcomed the re-election of Roberta Metsola for a second mandate as President of the European Parliament and congratulated Ursula von der Leyen on her appointment as President of the European Commission for a second mandate.

The ISE Working Group on Researchers’ Careers (WG RC) has prepared a paper to the attention of the HLG Chair Manuel Heitor proposing to establish funding schemes that promote academic job security for early career researchers. He will share it with the group and incited us to publish it on our website and disseminate it widely. We wish to thank the WG RC for this work. See here:

The Survey of European Parliament candidate lists’ views on Research and Innovation has been a big piece of work, the support and actions of our multidisciplinary members has been key, we wish to thank in particular the European Council of Doctoral Candidates and Junior Researchers (EURODOC), the International Consortium of Research Staff Organisations (ICoRSA), the Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA), and the Young Academy Europe (YAE) and all their members who were active.
